It all began as an exciting idea discussed between a teacher and gap student over a bowl of jelly and ice cream after which the SOS Africa Children’s Charity was born. 20 years later the grassroots organisation operates 4 education centres providing vital learning support and holistic education programmes for hundreds of children in Mahikeng and the Western Cape, South Africa.
As SOS Africa celebrates its 20th Birthday, we chat with the charity’s CEO and Co-Founder Dr Matt Crowcombe to find out how the organisation has grown over the past 20 years thanks to the generosity of its sponsors around the world.
